International framework
The network created by the MAPS department involves European and international institutions, and through these, students, professors and staff can spend some time in other countries for educational or professional benefit.
The network is also for people that want to come to Padua for study or work.
The availability of incoming and/or outgoing mobility is possible thanks to bilateral agreements established between MAPS and the other institutions in the form of memoranda of understanding. Another step, which is possible but not necessary, is the addendum, which gives a precise definition of the agreements between departments to express all points of collaboration.
MAPS has agreements with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture at Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), Veterinary Medicine School at the University of Rakuno Gakuen (Japan), Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine (Saudi Arabia), Agricultural University of Georgia, the University of Sydney (Australia), Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Sylhet Agriculture University (Bangladesh) and Kasetsart University (Thailand).
Agreements have been signed for Erasmus+ activities too. These are called inter-institutional agreements and are divided into two types: Erasmus KA103 and Erasmus KA107.
Erasmus KA103 agreements continue for a specific period (this time is 2014-2020). This program allows students and the professors to reamain abroad for 3 to 6 months with the principal aim of studying or working with partners in different European countries. Specularly are the activities of MAPS professors and students.
Erasmus KA107 agreements are different because these are agreements between institutions that continue for 3 years and allow students, professors and technicians to study and/or work abroad. MAPS has signed agreements with Addis Abeba University (Ethiopia), University of Sydney (Australia), Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Sylhet Agriculture University (Bangladesh) and Kasetsart University (Thailand).
One very important international agreement by MAPS is the B-Learning Uzbekistan Veterinary Network (BUzNet) capacity-building project in Uzbekistan.
